The adhole.fr website and the software's files are served from a server of the publisher rented from this host.

The DNS filter of the iPhone and iPad app, dns.antoinemoury.fr, is hosted on that same server, located in Germany.

The software

AdHole is a free-of-charge program for Windows, Linux and Android that filters advertising on the device where it is installed; its iPhone and iPad app filters it through a server run by the publisher. It is published and distributed by Antoine MOURY.

It is proprietary software: its source code is not provided, and the program may not be redistributed. The terms of use are in CGU.txt (English translation: CGU.en.txt), shipped with the program and accepted during installation; the Android, iPhone and iPad apps present them and have them accepted the first time they open.

The third-party libraries used by the program, their licences and the full text of those licences are in LICENCES-TIERCES.txt, shipped with the program.

Intellectual property

AdHole, its code, its interface, its name and its graphic elements are protected by copyright. Any reproduction, representation, modification or redistribution, in whole or in part, without the publisher's written permission, is prohibited, subject to the rights granted by article L122-6-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code.

The trademarks and website names mentioned in the software or its documentation belong to their respective owners, and are mentioned only as technical references.

Personal data

On computers and Android, AdHole transmits to the publisher no data relating to its users' browsing, and the publisher has no technical means of accessing any. The software sends the publisher an anonymous statistic, which can be turned off, used to count active installations and to show on the website the total number of requests blocked across all installations: on those devices, it is the only processing for which the publisher is the controller.

On iPhone and iPad, the names of the sites the device asks for go, encrypted, through the publisher's filter server, which does not write them down; there, the publisher is also the controller of a counter of blocked requests per identifier drawn at random, and of rate limiting.
